Blog Assignment #9

This class as a whole was my favorite for the simple reason that I like to write and I learned a few new things that will help me in the future when I am writing my own stories and such.

I think the thing I struggled with most was the deadlines, I work two jobs and being a father and a husband as well, I often put my school work last and that made me have to rush and get things done fast which in turn caused me to have more errors in my work. This class was easy enough to know that with my schedule right know I knew that I could get the things done and still work and be with my family, I think you did a great job with that and for that im grateful.

I love to write so yes the class was fun and the only thing I would do deffernt if I could go back would be taking my time and trying to put a little more effort into my work.

Overall, great class and I learned a few things. Thanks for that!

Blog Assignment #7

I have narrowed my sources down to three choices, two of them are television shows that come on once a week. Ghost Hunters which airs on the Sci-Fi channel every Wednesday at 10:00pm eastern time is a really great source for my topic because the TAPS team use a skeptics approach to their paranormal investigations and they like to explain how they do things to help the person watching understand whats going on during their investigations. The A&E channel also has a television program called Paranormal State which is a group of students from Penn State who have had paranormal experiences throughout their live and chose to go into the field to not only help themselves but others like them. It is not as detailed as Ghost Hunters and their style of investigations is totally opposite from the TAPS team but you can learn a lot of info.

I also chose to use the book "Paranormal Phenomena", I find that the book helps me with my research because it has very good opposing viewpoints from both sides of the fence.

Blog Entry #6

First off I think that I am going to really enjoy writing this style of paper because of my past experience with the topic. That being said I plan to use my own experience and what I have learned about the paranormal over the years to prove that even a amateur investigator can be safe as long as he or she knows a few basic rules. Also, television shows such as "Ghost Hunters" and paranormal state show that as long as you live by the rules of the trade you can contact the other side without bringing harm to yourself or your team.

A ghost after all is a spirit that has not left for one of two reasons. Either they have been wronged in their past life and want to bring the truth out or two they just have unfinished business. Now, you can dwell into the realm of demons and such but for the most part a haunting is just a ghost looking to communicate and basically say "Hey I need some help here!"

Blog Entry 5

Hey hey, I think the main thing that I have learned about persuasive writing is that I don't really like it. Ok, maybe that is a little harsh, what I mean is that its a lot of work then what I am used to. All the double spacing and doing this and that makes it almost a job more then writing. I think its one of those things that just has to be done though, you know, like when you were a kid and you had chores. You knew if you didn't get them done you couldn't go camping or stay over at your friends house. You had to do it even when you saw how bad it was going to suck.

Blog Assignment #4

In my essay I mostly changed my worked sited page because im still not really sure I understand what im doing in that section of an essay. I tried my best to reword some of my grammar because like I have said before my grammar isn't really that great and even Microsoft word can save me! In future essays I hope to improve on my flaws, as they say practice makes perfect.

1. Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychometry)

This site is like every other wikipedia site in my opinion, it gives you enough information to give you an ideal of what the subject your looking for is about but it never goes in depth.

2. about.com (http://paranormal.about.com/cs/espinformation/a/aa063003.htm)

About.com is one of my most favorite sites when im looking up something. It not only goes a little deeper into the subject it also gives you links about related subjects as well as links to more topics about what you are looking for.

3.Crystalinks (http://www.crystalinks.com/psychometry.html)

This site gives you a more divine look at the subject. It is more of a matter of fact in a nutshell page thats just gives you what the term is. I found it pretty much useless.

4. youtube (http://www.youtube.com/)

How can you not make a list of websites and not list youtube lol. It was good to get a sense of what my subject is by watching some people attempt it or study it on film.

5.themystica.com (http://www.themystica.com/mystica/articles/p/psychometry.html)

Again. another brief description of my subject but it also linked some sources at the bottom of the page, which gave me some book titles and such that I could also look up, all and all it was a decent site to use.
